Baek Ha Na and Lee Yu Lim avenged their Korea Masters final loss to Kim So Yeong/Kong Hee Yong by beating them in the opening round of the GR TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Thailand Open 2022.
Baek/Lee beat their higher-ranked compatriots Kim/Kong 21-18 21-11 to set up a second round clash with Malaysia’s Anna Cheong/Teoh Mei Xing.
In the top half of the draw, sixth seeds Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida overcame a first game loss to beat China’s Du Yue/Li Wen Mei 18-21 21-15 21-10. Matsuyama/Shida next take on Korea’s Jeong Na Eun/Kim Hye Jeong, who overcame Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi in a close battle, 25-23 15-21 21-17.
